Wedding Photo Sharing Without an App or Guest Accounts
Wedding photo sharing does not need to begin with an app-store download. OurFilm opens a shared digital disposable camera from one QR code, directly in the guest's mobile browser.
That matters at a wedding where different ages, iPhones and Android devices all meet for one day. Nobody creates an account for a single evening, and the couple does not need to persuade a room of people to install one more app.
What happens after the scan?
- The guest scans the wedding QR code or opens its link.
- They enter a display name—no email address, password or guest account.
- The browser opens the event camera and shows the remaining frame count.
- Each completed shot joins the private wedding gallery.
- The gallery opens according to the host's reveal setting.
The host chooses a roll of 5, 10, 16, 24 or 36 photos per participant. A guest who reaches zero cannot keep shooting, so the disposable-camera constraint stays real throughout the event.
More than an upload link
A standard web album gives guests an upload button. OurFilm gives them an event camera, a finite roll and a moment when the combined film is developed. The QR code is therefore part of the wedding activity, not only a technical route to a folder.
This approach works best when the couple wants spontaneous new photographs. If the goal is to import every photo and video already on each guest's phone, a conventional upload service is a better match.
Choose when the album appears
| Reveal option | Guest experience |
|---|---|
| Immediately | The shared gallery grows during the wedding |
| At event end | The complete guest film is discovered after the event |
| Host only | Guests take photos but do not browse the album |
The host can see every image and hide individual photos from guests. The event link should still be treated like an invitation: anyone who receives it may pass it on.
No app does not mean no internet
The camera runs in a browser, but it is still an online service. The venue needs usable mobile data or Wi-Fi for joining and uploading. Test connectivity where the QR cards will sit rather than only at the venue entrance.
Current product boundaries
OurFilm does not currently include video, an audio guestbook, filters, bulk camera-roll upload or a live photo wall. The finite roll and delayed reveal create the film feeling; a visual filter is not applied afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
Does the host need to install an app?
No. Event creation and management also happen in the browser.
What does a guest see after scanning?
They see the event join screen, then the shared camera and their remaining number of shots.
Can the gallery stay hidden?
Yes. The host controls whether guests can view the revealed gallery.
Create an app-free wedding camera and test the printed QR code on the phones your guests are likely to use.
