Digital Disposable Camera for Weddings
A digital disposable camera gives wedding guests the fun of a finite film roll without putting a physical camera on every table. Guests scan a QR code and use their own phone, while every photo becomes part of one private wedding film.
The point is not to imitate plastic, flash noise or a vintage filter. It is to bring back the behaviour that made disposable cameras memorable: fewer shots, no retakes and a reveal everyone waits for.
What is a digital disposable camera?
A digital disposable camera is a temporary event camera that runs on a guest's phone. The host controls how long it works, how many frames each person gets and when the results become visible.
With OurFilm, guests do not install an app or create an account. The camera opens in the mobile browser from a QR code or event link.
The OurFilm wedding experience
- Every guest receives the same host-selected roll: 5, 10, 16, 24 or 36 shots.
- A captured photo uses one frame; there is no preview or retake.
- The camera works until the event end time chosen by the host.
- Photos can appear immediately or develop together when the event ends.
- The event gallery is private and excluded from search indexing.
- The host can hide unwanted photos and download the complete album as a ZIP.
This creates a shared activity rather than a passive request to upload pictures after the wedding.

Physical disposables still make sense when the tactile object and genuine film result are the main attraction. A digital option makes more sense when you want every guest to participate, one organised gallery and no cameras to collect at the end of the night.
Why limited shots improve the experience
An unlimited camera encourages hundreds of near-identical photos. A finite roll makes the remaining frame count visible and asks the guest to choose a moment. The result is usually a more varied record of the wedding and less time spent looking at a screen.
For a short reception, 10 or 16 frames may be enough. A full wedding day often suits 24, while 36 gives enthusiastic guests more room. The host makes one choice for the whole event, so the rule is easy to understand.
Immediate or delayed development
An immediate reveal works when guests should be able to browse the gallery during the event. An end-of-event reveal keeps the photos hidden while everyone is shooting and creates one shared moment of discovery afterwards.
OurFilm currently offers these two choices. It does not promise a next-day schedule or a custom number of days after the wedding.
Where the QR code belongs
The camera only works if guests notice it. Place the QR code where people have time to scan it: on dinner tables, at the bar, beside the guest book and near a photo prompt. Include a short explanation such as “Scan for your camera — 24 shots each.”

What OurFilm does not include
The current product is intentionally narrow. It does not include video, audio messages, RSVP, live slideshow, camera-roll uploads, filters, preview or retakes. If any of those are essential, a broader event app will be a better choice.

- No. It complements professional photography with candid moments captured from the guests’ point of view.
