Wedding Guest Photo Upload, Reimagined as a Shared Camera
Most wedding photo upload tools begin after a picture already exists. OurFilm starts one step earlier: guests scan a QR code and take the photo inside the wedding's shared camera, so it reaches the private gallery automatically.
If you only need people to submit hundreds of existing camera-roll files after the day, a conventional upload album or Google Drive may suit you better. OurFilm is for couples who want the act of taking guest photos to become part of the celebration.
From QR code to private gallery
- Create the event and choose 5, 10, 16, 24 or 36 shots per guest.
- Decide whether photos appear immediately or after the event ends.
- Share the event's QR code or link on signs, table cards or messages.
- Guests enter a name and use the browser camera. They do not install an app or create an account.
- The finished album can be downloaded in one ZIP by the host.

Neither approach is universally better. They solve different problems. An upload folder maximises the number and type of files collected; a guest camera shapes how new photos are made.
Why not allow unlimited shots?
The roll is the creative rule, not a technical shortcoming. A finite number of frames makes each shutter press matter and keeps the wedding from becoming an endless phone-photo exercise.
The host chooses the same roll length for every participant. The paid event removes the participant cap, but it does not turn those rolls into unlimited uploads.
Placing the QR code
Put the code where a guest naturally has time to scan it: on dinner tables, by the bar, beside the guestbook and near any photo corner. Include one clear line explaining that the code opens a camera, not another app to download.
Test the printed code at its real size and from the distance guests will use. A perfect upload flow cannot repair a QR card that is too small, glossy or poorly lit.
What to know before choosing OurFilm
OurFilm currently accepts new still photos captured through the event camera. It does not accept videos, audio messages or bulk camera-roll uploads, and it does not provide a live venue slideshow. Those omissions keep the guest flow focused, but they make a broader upload platform the honest choice for some weddings.
